Kathryn Calley Galitz is an art historian and bestselling author. A scholar of late eighteenth- and nineteenth-century French painting, she has published and lectured on a wide range of topics, including Impressionism. At The Metropolitan Museum of Art, she served on the curatorial team for international exhibitions on JMW Turner and Gustave Courbet. She has also held curatorial positions at the Art Institute of Chicago and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. She earned her Ph.D. in art history at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.
